Accessibility Statement
Our Commitment
Flowtriq Networks Inc. is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
What We Currently Do
- Semantic HTML. We use semantic elements (nav, main, section, article, header, footer) throughout the site and dashboard to provide meaningful structure for screen readers and assistive technologies.
- Keyboard navigation. All interactive elements (buttons, links, form fields, tabs, dropdowns) are reachable and operable via keyboard. Focus states are visible on all actionable elements.
- ARIA labels. Buttons and interactive controls that lack visible text labels include aria-label attributes for screen reader users.
- Color contrast. Text and interactive elements meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text) against our dark background theme.
- Responsive design. The platform is usable across screen sizes from mobile to desktop. All content reflows without horizontal scrolling at up to 400% zoom.
- Form labels. All form inputs have associated labels. Required fields are clearly indicated. Error messages are descriptive and associated with the relevant field.
- Alt text. Images include descriptive alt attributes. Decorative images use empty alt attributes to be ignored by screen readers.
- No auto-play. No audio or video plays automatically. Animations respect the prefers-reduced-motion media query where implemented.
- Link purpose. Links are descriptive in context. We avoid generic "click here" link text.
Known Limitations
We are aware of the following areas where accessibility can be improved and are actively working on them:
- Dashboard data tables. Some complex data tables in the dashboard (incident lists, PCAP packet views, comparison matrices) may not have optimal screen reader navigation. We are adding ARIA table roles and column/row headers.
- Chart and graph accessibility. The attack graph visualization on the homepage and incident timelines in the dashboard are primarily visual. We are working on text-based alternatives and ARIA live regions for real-time data updates.
- SVG comic illustrations. The comic strip on the /problems page uses inline SVG characters. These have limited alt text. We are adding descriptive aria-label attributes to each panel.
- prefers-reduced-motion. Some CSS animations (entrance animations, hover effects) do not yet fully respect the prefers-reduced-motion setting. We are implementing this across all animation classes.
- Dark mode only. The platform currently uses a dark color scheme only. We are evaluating a light theme option for users who prefer or require it.
Standards and Regulations
This statement is prepared in accordance with:
- WCAG 2.1 Level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, W3C Recommendation)
- European Accessibility Act (Directive 2019/882, effective June 2025) for EU users
- Accessible Canada Act (S.C. 2019, c. 10) for Canadian federal obligations
- Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act (where applicable to federal customers)
- EN 301 549 (European standard for ICT accessibility)
We aim for Level AA conformance. Some components may currently achieve Level A only, as described in the Known Limitations section above.
Testing
We test accessibility using:
- Manual keyboard navigation testing across all major pages and dashboard views.
- Screen reader testing with VoiceOver (macOS) and NVDA (Windows).
- Automated scanning with axe-core and Lighthouse accessibility audits.
- Color contrast verification with WebAIM Contrast Checker.
We test on the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
