How It Works
The Virtualizor integration uses a pull model. There is no plugin to install on your Virtualizor server. Instead, Flowtriq polls the Virtualizor admin API every 5 minutes to discover VPS instances, their hostnames, and their primary IPs.
When Flowtriq sees a new VPS, it creates a monitoring node for it. When a VPS is deleted from Virtualizor, Flowtriq deactivates the corresponding node. You connect the two systems once and the rest is automatic.
Prerequisites
- Virtualizor 3.x with the admin API enabled
- An admin API key and password (generated in Virtualizor's API settings)
- A Flowtriq account with at least one workspace
The Flowtriq server needs network access to your Virtualizor admin panel (usually port 4085). If your panel is behind a firewall, allow inbound connections from flowtriq.com.
Setup
In your Flowtriq dashboard, go to Integrations > Hosting Panels > Add and select Virtualizor.
Fill in the connection details:
- Panel URL: The full URL to your Virtualizor admin panel (e.g.,
https://virt.example.com:4085) - API Key: Your Virtualizor admin API key
- API Password: Your Virtualizor admin API password
- Workspace: Which Flowtriq workspace to create nodes in
Click Save & Test. Flowtriq connects to the Virtualizor API and confirms it can list VPS instances.
API Credentials in Virtualizor
If you have not generated API credentials yet, log into your Virtualizor admin panel and go to Configuration > API Credentials. Click Create API Key. Virtualizor gives you an API key and API password. Copy both into the Flowtriq integration form.
The API key needs read access to list virtual servers. Write access is not required. Flowtriq only reads from the Virtualizor API; it never modifies your VPS instances.
What Gets Synced
On each sync cycle, Flowtriq pulls the following from Virtualizor and maps it to a Flowtriq node:
- VPS ID: Used as the external reference to track which node belongs to which VPS
- Hostname: Becomes the node name in Flowtriq
- Primary IP: The IP address that Flowtriq monitors for DDoS traffic
- Status: Running, stopped, or suspended. Only running VPS instances get active monitoring.
If a VPS has multiple IPs, Flowtriq uses the primary IP. You can add additional IPs manually in the Flowtriq dashboard if needed.
Auto-Provisioning
The sync runs every 5 minutes. Here is what happens for each state change:
- New VPS created in Virtualizor: Flowtriq creates a new monitoring node with the VPS hostname and primary IP. Click into the panel to see each VPS and copy the one-liner install command for ftagent.
- VPS deleted in Virtualizor: The corresponding Flowtriq node is deactivated. It stays in your history for incident records but stops counting toward your node limit.
- VPS suspended: The node is paused automatically. No incidents are created and no alerts fire while the VPS is suspended.
- VPS unsuspended: The node resumes and monitoring is fully active again.
You do not need to touch the Flowtriq dashboard when you add or remove VPS instances. The integration keeps the two systems in sync.
Dashboard View
In the Flowtriq dashboard under Integrations > Hosting Panels, you see a table of all connected panels. For each Virtualizor connection, the table shows:
- Panel name and URL
- VPS count: How many VPS instances were discovered
- Last sync: Timestamp of the most recent successful sync
- Status: Connected, error, or syncing
Click into a panel to see the full list of synced VPS instances with their node status and last check-in time.
Manual Sync
If you do not want to wait for the next 5-minute cycle, click the Sync Now button on the panel detail page. This triggers an immediate pull from the Virtualizor API and updates all nodes. Useful after a bulk VPS deployment or migration.
